Good afternoon Tri-City Bible Church,

I trust you’re all resting in the kind providence of our Lord. What a joy to be reminded that “Yahweh has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all” (Psalm 103:19).

The message this week is entitled Serve by Leading and will focus on what the Bible teaches us about shepherding (1 Peter 5:1-14). We’ll take two weeks to cover this vital section, looking specifically at the role of elders this week (1 Peter 5:1-4).

This short series we’ve called Excelling in Exile is meant to equip us with tools to glorify God every day as we sojourn through a world that is not ultimately our home. So far we've studied our personal and corporate sanctification (1 Peter 2:4-10), submission (1 Peter 2:11-3:22), and even suffering (1 Peter 4:1-19). This final section on shepherding (1 Peter 5:1-14) will be a fitting capstone as we celebrate the glory of our Chief Shepherd.

Remember this week we will finally celebrate communion again as a church. Packaged elements will be available for you to partake of, or you can feel free to bring your own to share among the believers in your own family.

Regarding the Livestream: We will begin the broadcast of the livestream at approximately 9:20am, just before the reading of Scripture and preaching, and it will conclude before the gathered church celebrates the Lord’s Supper together. So for those of you who cannot attend due to various concerns, please feel free to join us at that time on either our YouTube or Facebook channels.

Grace and Peace,
Jonathan Rourke
